Kuldeep Yadav is a huge football fan, often tweeting about the sport whenever he can. A huge FC Barcelona fan, he doesn’t miss the chance to watch other teams play football as well. 

Kuldeep Yadav recently featured on R. Ashwin’s popular talk show, Kutti Stories. The spinner recounted the time he had a huge fanboy moment when he met David Beckham during the 2024 ODI World Cup. He admitted he spoke a bit too directly and also told him he wanted to become a football manager.

I met him after the game and told him that I used to watch Manchester United because of Paul Scholes. I spoke a bit too directly. I also told him that I am a huge Gary Neville fan and requested him to let him know whenever he meets him. I told that after I finish my career I probably want to try being a football manager.

Yadav also said he wanted to help out Indian football after retiring. He acknowledged the fact that the sport doesn’t have enough resources and wants to help out however he can. The spinner aims to  start his own academy. 

Kuldeep Yadav was a huge CSK fan growing up 

In the episode, Kuldeep Yadav revealed that he was a huge Chennai Super Kings fan growing up. He was attracted to the club due to Matthew Hayden and MS Dhoni. He kept on supporting the team until he was purchased by Mumbai Indians in 2012.

After I played U-19, I got picked by the Mumbai Indians in 2012. Before that, I used to watch IPL and it was only 'CSK CSK' for me.

Yadav didn’t make any impact at MI, not playing a single game. He was released the following season and without a team till 2014, he was being purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Yadav made his KKR debut in 2016, two years after joining, and was integrated into the playing 11 in 2017. He currently plays for Delhi Capitals, being purchased at the 2022 Mega Auction.
