Christopher Bell winning the pole for Geico 500 at Talladega
Christopher Bell who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series driving the No.20 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing steals the pole position ahead of this week’s Geico 500 at the Talladega Superspeedway after crossing teammate Martin Truex Jr. for the pole.
Despite starting off this season with two DNFs Christopher Bell came back pretty strong with four top 10s this season with his other outings being not more than P26. He currently stands 15th in the points table with 220 points ahead of this week’s Geico 500.
‘That was all my crew guys, ‘ Christopher Bell on his Talladega pole
Christopher Bell achieved his second pole this season with his first being at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He had his team to thank for being in the position that he is and that the crew is fantastic.
“That was all my crew guys, I am very thankful to be in the position I am, driving the No. 20 Camry and we have a great team. This one is really big,” said Christopher Bell.
He further added saying that he could achieve higher RPMs on the track going down from the very beginning and wasn’t sure if the wind was an advantage to him as it didn’t hinder his pace going down the track.
“Even from the first round to the second round, I could tell that my RPMs picked up really big going down the back straightaway. I don’t know if (the wind) was an advantage to me. It definitely did not hurt,” concluded Christopher Bell.
Will Christopher Bell shine just like he did during the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway?
