Thomas Tuchel has expressed his disappointment over the Chelsea hierarchy not trusting him initially

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea stay up until now has been a thing of dreams to say the least. The German coach is yet to lose a match as Chelsea boss and recently led his team to a crucial win in the UEFA Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
Thomas Tuchel laments on lack of trust
However it’s a known fact that the power of managers at Chelsea football club is extremely limited. You can take the examples of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte or very recently Frank Lampard and you’ll come to the same conclusion.
Player power at the club is immense and there’s limited resources in the hands of the management. Hence it’s obvious that a manager will take into consideration these points before taking up the job at Stamford Bridge.
Moreover when it’s the job of ressurecting a broken side- it becomes all the more important and tough. Thereby when Thomas Tuchel was offered the role of Chelsea head coach that too with a contract for just eighteen months he was sceptical at first. The short span of employment offered definitely created a feeling of lack of trust from the hierarchy.
“Maybe we won’t make it which is still possible because it’s a tough race and it will be easy to sack me again.
“But after just a matter of minutes I took the weight off my shoulders. I thought ‘if I’m good, if they like what I’m doing they will make me stay.’
“’If I’m not good, if I don’t have good results they will sack me anyway.’ I can have a five-year contract and they could still sack me so why worry about it?
