Those hoping that the league will select some highly anticipated matchups for its primetime slots won’t be disappointed, considering the NFL has an excellent track record of giving the fans what they want.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Kansas City Chiefs
Last year’s Super Bowl was a riveting contest between the Chiefs and Eagles, where both teams put their best foot forward in a game that came right down to the wire. Kansas City was able to edge out Philadelphia, but the two teams will fortunately not have to wait years to re-unite on the gridiron. Thanks to the NFL’s expanded regular season, these franchises are slated to meet again in 2023.
Moreover, they are the betting favorites for this season’s Super Bowl, so it’s going to be a heavyweight clash once again. Whenever it’s played, the game should matter quite a bit to the Eagles, considering that they were so close to bringing home the Lombardi Trophy. Philadelphia’s pass rush will try to figure out a way to get to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which is something they could not do in the Super Bowl. Kansas City will attempt to keep the Philadelphia coaching staff off balance in the rematch.
New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills
The Jets have long felt that upgrading their quarterback room would bring them one step closer to contending for a playoff spot, and that’s exactly what they did by bringing in Aaron Rodgers. Even though it took a while to finalize the trade with the Green Bay Packers, New York is sitting in a much better position than they were last season. The franchise feels like they’re ready to compete with the rest of the AFC.
Before they can think about where they stack up in the conference, they’ll first need to worry about the AFC East. Buffalo has been the class of the division since Tom Brady left, and the Jets will need to overtake them. The Bills’ 2022 season ended in disappointing fashion, so they too will be motivated to have a strong 2023 campaign.
Carolina Panthers vs Chicago Bears
The inclusion of this NFL matchup might seem like a mistake, but the Panthers and Bears game next year will be one to watch. The two teams were involved in a blockbuster trade that gave Carolina the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and sent wide receiver D. J. Moore to Chicago. There will be some new faces on the field for that game and an old face in a new place.
Chicago quarterback Justin Fields needed a proven pass catcher on the offense, which Moore profiles as. Carolina needed a reset at quarterback, which they accomplished during the draft. It’ll be fun to see how these pieces look in live-action.
