Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most talented cricketers for India and as is normalcy with regard to Indian cricket, he enjoys a huge fan-following. The all-rounder is known for being active on social media as he can be seen posting selfies and pictures regularly on his handles. He has also used social media to reply to critics such as when he called out commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for terming him a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer.

In 2014, a social media conversation between Jadeja and English woman cricketer Sarah Taylor went viral. Sarah who retired in 2019, is one of England cricket’s most decorated female players. In a career spanning over 12 years, she represented her national side in 126 ODIs, 90 T20Is and 10 Tests scoring in excess of 7000 aggregate runs.

In 2014, after the T20 World Cup final for both men and women where India and England ended up on the losing side respectively, Ravindra Jadeja had supposedly sent a direct message to Sarah Taylor but since he wasn’t following her on Twitter, the batswoman was unable to respond to him privately. So she had to send out public Tweets to respond to every message that Jadeja was sending her. Oblivious to how DMs and Tweets work, the Indian all-rounder kept chatting to her in the same way, without following her.

What started off as a conversation about their performances soon turned into talks of a meet-up between the two and ended with Sarah asking Jadeja to meet her by the pool at 10 am.

View the Tweets below:

The conversation seems to have begun with Ravindra Jadeja congratulating Sarah Taylor.

He then looks to have moved on to their teams’ performances on the field.

Sarah then tries to explain as to how private messages and public tweets work on the website.

The English cricketer then asks Jadeja as to whether he is at an event.

The Indian all-rounder seems to have replied to the same and stated that Sarah’s previous response was ‘random’.

Sarah then clarifies the ‘randomness’.

Sarah then talks about how Jadeja’s fans have taken notice of her tweets.

Jadeja then supposedly asks Sarah when she leaves, probably for home.

The two then decide to meet by the pool at 10 am.
