The Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) look forward to bouncing back from their first-season loss against the Denver Broncos last week, heading into a divisional matchup against the New York Giants (1-4). The Giants, after picking up a win in the third week, suffered a bad loss last week against the New Orleans Saints.
The Eagles-Giants game will mark the first time former Giants running back Saquon Barkley will return to East Rutherford as a Super Bowl champion. He and the Eagles are in a good spot despite dropping one last week. They have defeated a few of the top teams in the leagues already, including rivals Kansas City Chiefs and fellow conference bigwigs like the Los Angeles Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
They are leading the NFC East, while the New York Giants are dead last. The Giants did not have the ideal start to the season, with their starting quarterback being benched by the fourth week for a rookie to come in.
While the said rookie, Jaxson Dart, delivered a spectacular performance in his debut start, he experienced a low last week against the Saints. Dart will be looking forward to numbing the low with a win over a higher-ranked opponent.
The proximity of the teams and them being in the same division have made the two one of the fiercest rivals in the league. The Eagles are currently in the lead with ninety-six wins, seven more than the Giants.

Why can the Philadelphia Eagles win?
The Philadelphia Eagles are a dominant side with four wins in the record column already. The Eagles’ offense, despite the recent troubles, has several troublemakers for the opposition. Jalen Hurts can be a dual-threat quarterback, though their passing game has been so off this season. The game against the Giants might be their chance to explore that aspect of their offensive strategy.
The Giants do not have an experienced and trustworthy skill position unit. The Giants are already missing Malik Nabers, and they are expected to miss Darius Slayton as well, owing to his hamstring injury. The young quarterback over in East Rutherford is going to have a tough time finding an option to throw his ball, meaning the opportunities to limit their red zone capabilities and scoring chances.
The Eagles will also have the added advantage of a pressured coach who’s under heated pressure from the fans and management. It may lead to desperation or motivation, but many times, it ends up in terrible decision-making.
Why can the New York Giants win?
In two games, Jaxson Dart has established a unique rhythm in the Big Blue colors. His youthful exuberance has added a certain level of explosiveness to the locker room. He has thrown for 313 yards and three touchdowns. However, he has contributed to some turnovers as well, which he would be working to iron out.

The Giants will also have Tyrone Tracy back on the team after missing two games due to injury. Tracy’s introduction to the team will help to reduce the rushing load on rookie Cam Skattebo, who also fumbled in New Orleans. They will also have the support of Devin Singletary.
The Giants can also take advantage of the offensive troubles faced by the Birds. The chemistry in the Birds’ camp has been way off, and the Giants’ defense has a perfect opportunity to shine through. The Giants are the only team this season with three players recording more than 15 pressures. Abdul Carter leads the group with 25, while Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux each have 19, tied for the 14th-most in the league.
