Following her Royal Rumble return, there were rumblings within the wrestling community that Trish Stratus was far from done. Fightful reported that Stratus would participate in the lead-up to the upcoming PLE in her hometown of Toronto, Elimination Chamber. As such, the build kickstarted on last night’s episode of SmackDown when Stratus revealed she would appear at the event. Not only that, the WWE Hall of Famer also engaged in a physical battle later on the night.

Tiffany Stratton defended her Women’s Championship against her former friend, Nia Jax. Just when she was about to put away Jax with the PME, Candice LeRae interfered, causing a DQ finish. This led to a 2-on-1 beatdown by Jax and LeRae on The Buff Barbie. Moments later, Stratus’ music hit as the legend ran down to save Stratton. However, the duo failed to fight back. The segment ended with Jax and LeRae standing tall over Stratton and Stratus.

The 49-year-old star then approached Stratton backstage, proposing a temporary alliance against the duo of Jax and LeRae. Moreover, she suggested that they team up to face Stratton’s rivals at the upcoming Elimination Chamber PLE.

Last month, Stratus returned in the Women’s Royal Rumble match at #25. Although she didn’t garner any eliminations, the legendary wrestler still showed that she could go inside the ring. In fact, this wouldn’t be the first time that Stratus came back for a months-long run in WWE.

Back in 2023, Trish Stratus was involved in a personal rivalry with Becky Lynch. This feud culminated at that year’s Payback PLE inside a Steel Cage match. Since then, fans had been awaiting to see the former Women’s Champion back in action.

What else to expect at the Elimination Chamber PLE

The Elimination Chamber will be the final PLE before WrestleMania 41. As such, fans should get a clear indication of the WrestleMania card in the aftermath of the event. So far, WWE has confirmed two matches for the show in Toronto, both being #1 contender’s Elimination Chamber matches.

Six women will battle it out inside the chamber to determine Rhea Ripley or Iyo Sky‘s challenger at WrestleMania. Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, and Bayley have all secured spots in the bout. The sixth qualifier is set to take place on next week’s Raw episode with Roxanne Perez taking on Raquel Rodriguez.

On the men’s side of things, the winner will receive a shot against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title. With an already stacked field of CM Punk, John Cena, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul, this will most likely main event the show. Similar to the women’s match, the last spot will be determined on Monday in a match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.
