The golf world can expect some big changes in the next few months as Tiger Woods hinted about a possible PGA Tour-LIV Golf reunification “very soon.” The PGA-LIV cold war has been going on since the Saudi-backed league’s inception back in 2021.
Several players since then have left the official tour to join the billion-dollar league which further caused a rift between players. However, with President Donald Trump in the picture a negotiation and deal with PIF is evident.
Last week PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan and board member Adam Scott had a meeting with Donald Trump regarding the PIF deal. Woods was unable to attend due to his mother, Kultida Woods, declining health.
While Monahan mentioned there may not be another meeting with Trump anytime soon, he hinted at a possibility likewise. On Sunday, Tiger Woods stated Donald Trump will be a key figure in the negotiations with LIV Golf. Woods said that things are finally “going in the right direction” after a long time ongoing feud.
I think we’re in a very positive place right now. We had a meeting with the president. Unfortunately, I had some other circumstances that came up, but Jay and Adam [Scott], they did great during the meeting, and we have another subsequent meeting coming up. I think that things are going to heal quickly.

Woods and Monahan did not mention the specifics of the meetings but shared the same positive sentiment of the cold war finally coming to an end. He said that golf will finally be heading in the right direction after years of dispute.
Tiger Woods arrives at Genesis Invitational with Kai Trump
Earlier this week Tiger Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational due to his grieving period following his mother Kultida’s passing at 80 on February 4. However, he did appear for the final round with Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump at Torrey Pines.

The Genesis Invitational Open which is usually held at Riviera was planned at Torrey Pines after the recent LA fire case. Initially,Woods agreed to be part of the event but later withdrew from the invitation.
Mom was my rock, you know?…whether it’s nine holes out in Riverside, San Bernadino, she would drive out there and keep score, walk every hole and how many putts I hit, how many fairways I hit, how many greens I hit.
