On Sunday, Jacob Bridgeman claimed his first PGA Tour win as he emerged on top of The Genesis Invitational. Following the tournament, the 26-year-old received a hilarious message from host Tiger Woods.
After shooting a score of 66 in the first round, Bridgeman carded back-to-back rounds of 64. He would be in the driving seat by the end of the day’s play on Saturday as he had built a 6-shot lead over his competitors.
Following 2 birdies, he made 2 bogeys on the front nine. After he made 8 straight pars from holes 8 to 15, the nerves started to kick in for him. A bogey on the 16th hole meant there was still a chance for someone to catch up to him.
Fortunately for him, he was able to hold on. Two back-to-back pars on the final two holes saw him finish with a score of 72 for the round. In the end, he finished 1-shot ahead of runners-up Kurt Kitayama and Rory McIlroy, despite the latter making a birdie on the final hole.
A dream realized.

As he won the event, he would get a moment with tournament host Tiger Woods. In the press conference after the round, he was asked by one reporter what his conversation with the 15-time major champion was.
While the first-time tour winner did not get to hear much about what Woods said at first, he revealed that the former World No.1 shared a hilarious message with him and pointed out how he got one up on him.
I don’t know what he said when I first walked up the hill, but walking down the hill he was saying kind of how amazing walking down and seeing… all the people, how amazing the 18th hole is here and how cool it is to win here. And he said, You’ve got one on me. So I guess he’s never won yet. I got one thing. He’s got all the other ones, but I got one.

Tiger Woods makes hilarious joke about his age at Genesis Invitational
This past weekend, Tiger Woods made an appearance at the Riviera Course as the host of The Genesis Invitational. During this, he would join the broadcasting booth as well and made a hilarious joke about his age.

On December 30, 2025, Woods turned 50 years old. He would have a lavish celebration at a private venue with selected number of guests.
As he turned 50, he became eligible for the PGA Tour Champions, the senior tour. Whether he will play on this circuit or not is not confirmed yet, he would make some jokes about his age.
After commentator Jim Nantz asked him how he felt about being 50, the American international would claim he feels more than 50.
No, I don’t feel 50. I feel a hell of a lot older.

Last year, he ruptured his Achilles tendon while preparing for the Masters. A few months later, he would undergo another back surgery and have his disc replaced. Since then, he has remained away from the greens.
