In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club and TGR Live, and out of respect for the unfolding situation, we have determined that The Genesis Invitational 2025 will be played at an alternate location the week of Feb. 10-16. A venue update and additional tournament information will be provided in the coming days.

PGA Tour said in a statement

At the moment, the Riviera Country Club is in the mandatory evacuation zone due to the Pacific Palisades fire. Fortunately, it has not suffered any damage as of yet.

The Palisades fire which started on January 7, is still going on. Apart from Palisades, the fire has spread to the Eaton and Hurst region, with more than 40,000 total acres being burned down.

Is the TPC Scottsdale going to host Genesis Invitational?

As the Genesis Invitational gets moved away from the Riviera Country Club, speculations regarding the new location of the tournament have started. The TPC Scottsdale has now been rumored to host the Genesis Invitational in February.

The course situated in Scottsdale, Arizona, currently hosts the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The Genesis Invitational is currently scheduled to take place after the WM Phoenix Open. Given the dates and the looming situation, this course could serve as an alternate location.

A golf course hosting back-to-back events on the PGA Tour is very rare. During the COVID-19 pandemic era, the Muirfield Village hosted two consecutive tournaments. At that time, the circumstances were a bit different though.

Only time will tell which course the PGA Tour decides to host the 2025 Genesis Invitational tournament Last year, the event marked the official return of Tiger Woods to a golf course since his withdrawal from the 2023 Masters Tournament.

He though fell sick during the event and was forced to withdraw again. Japanese golfer, Hideki Matsuyama later went on to claim the victory in this signature event.
