I'm able to do something that I haven't done all year.Tiger Woods told the reporters
We've been busting it pretty hard in the gym which has been good. Body's been feeling better to be able to do such things and it translates I'm able to hit the ball better. Can't quite stay out there on during practice sessions as long as I'd like but I'm able to do something that I haven't done all year which is nice.Tiger Woods added
Tiger Woods was engaged in a major car accident on February 23, 2021. He sustained many open fractures in his right leg and ankle. The collision happened in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Woods was traveling at a dangerous speed of 84-87 mph in a 45 mph zone when he lost control of his car. The automobile collided with the median, crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a tree, and rolled over numerous times.
Woods had emergency surgery to stabilize his leg. A rod was put into his tibia, and screws and pins were utilized to secure his foot and ankle. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was considering having his leg amputated, and this has affected his whole game.
How has Tiger Woods performed in 2024?
Tiger Woods has had a difficult season at the majors thus far in 2024. He began the season with the Genesis Invitational in February. However, he has only participated in three major tournaments since then. He completed all 72 holes at the Masters in April, his first time doing so since February 2023.
It was a big milestone in his recuperation from right ankle surgery in April 2023. Despite this, he finished 60th, his lowest finish at a major since 1996. He then missed the cut in both the PGA Championship and the US Open.
Woods has also been questioned about his form and fitness, with some saying he should retire. Woods remains positive, hoping to play in all four majors for the first time since 2019.
