The city of Los Angeles is currently going through a hard time. The LA wildfire has caused massive havoc in the city leading to huge destruction of properties. Golf great Tiger Woods is now unsure about the Genesis Invitational tournament that will take place at the Riviera Golf Course which is close to the fire site.

The Riviera golf course is located at the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Woods, the 15-time major champion, serves as the host of this signature event.

We’re trying to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone is safe and we have meetings scheduled going forward. But as of right now, we’re not really focused on the tournament. It’s more about what we can do to help everyone who’s struggling, who’ve lost homes and had their lives changed.

Woods would also share a heartfelt message regarding this wildfire on his social media accounts. The 49-year-old golfer offered his condolences to those who lost their loved ones during this tragic event.

The devastation that is ongoing with the LA fires is such a tragedy and being from California, it hits home. My heart is with those who have suffered unimaginable loss. Thank you to the incredible heroes that are the first responders helping to contain and save the community of Los Angeles.

Just like Woods, Homa is another one who grew up in SoCal. The 6-time PGA Tour winner claimed that whenever someone mentioned an area in the news, he could picture it very well.

It’s devastating… This is the first one I can remember where every news, every time someone mentioned an area, I could picture it so well. It was very eerie. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about the golf tournament. No offense to Tiger and TGR (Tiger’s foundation) and Genesis, but it seems silly at the moment to be overly focused on a golf tournament.

Max Homa said as per PGA Tour

Speaking on the TGL, Homa and his Jupiter Links GC teammates suffered a crushing 12-1 defeat against the Los Angeles Golf Club. They will look to bounce back from this setback in their next match on January 27.
