Former British tennis star Tim Henman believes that the career of Novak Djokovic is far from over. The current BBC presenter stated that it wouldn’t surprise him if the Serbian player goes on to win the US Open next month.

Djokovic is currently on a break from the ATP tour, having withdrawn from both the Masters 1000 events in Canada and Cincinnati. He was the defending champion at the Cincinnati Open, which could impact his ATP ranking.

Winning the Olympics might free him up. He might think he has ticked all the boxes and I am playing with the house’s money now. He might go out and feel no pressure as he looks to win another major at the US Open...That might be dangerous for the rest because he will play with freedom and while he is fit and healthy, I definitely think he has more major titles in him.

Djokovic has indicated that his career is not yet over. In fact, he hasn’t ruled out participating in the LA Olympics in 2028, where he could potentially seek to become the second player, after Andy Murray, to win the Olympic Singles Gold Medal twice. Djokovic is scheduled to play at the US Open next, where he is the defending champion, having defeated Daniil Medvedev in three sets to claim the 24th Grand Slam title of his career.

Records left for Novak Djokovic to break following Olympic triumph

It may come as a surprise to many, but even after winning the Olympic Singles Gold Medal, there are still a few milestones left for Novak Djokovic to achieve in the remainder of his career. The 37-year-old won his first Olympic Gold Medal in early August at the Paris Olympics.

Djokovic is next scheduled to play at the US Open, but he has never successfully defended the title in New York throughout his career. In fact, no male player has defended the US Open title since Roger Federer did so in 2008.

Moreover, Djokovic has his sights set on surpassing Jimmy Connors‘ records for the most ATP titles and the most ATP match wins. The American legend finished his career with 109 ATP titles and 1,274 match wins. Djokovic is currently third on both of these lists, with 99 ATP titles and 1,116 match wins. Federer is second, with 103 ATP titles and 1,251 match wins.
