English tennis legend and Sky Sports pundit Tim Henman has picked Wimbledon as the most likely tournament for Novak Djokovic to win his 25th Grand Slam title. The Serb has not won a Grand Slam since clinching the 2023 US Open against Daniil Medvedev.

Henman believes that Djokovic’s confidence and understanding of grass courts will be crucial to his success at SW19. The Serb reached the Wimbledon final last year after a dramatic recovery from a torn meniscus at Roland Garros.

I think Wimbledon is his best chance to win a 25th Grand Slam. He reached the final last year after knee surgery. And I think it’s a combination of his confidence and his understanding of grass tennis, and the fact that there are maybe fewer players who are comfortable on grass. If you look at who could have won in Australia, there were four, maybe five? On grass, there are probably even fewer… [World No. 1] Jannik Sinner has been to the semi-finals, but I think grass is probably the surface on which he is most vulnerable; there’s Djokovic and Alcaraz, but beyond that, it’s hard to predict.

Tim Henman said on Sky Sports

Djokovic went the entire 2024 season without a Grand Slam title, marking the first time this had happened since 2017. His only silver lining was winning the Olympic Singles Gold medal, where he avenged his Wimbledon final loss against Carlos Alcaraz.

The Serbian has reached six consecutive Wimbledon finals from 2018 to 2024 (the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). However, he lost the last two Wimbledon finals to Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic makes important decision after the Australian Open

Novak Djokovic will not play in Serbia’s Davis Cup Qualifiers first-round match against Denmark. The matches are set to take place from January 31 to February 2. His absence is a big setback for the Serbian team, as he was expected to lead them.

Djokovic had to retire from the Australian Open semifinal due to a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury during his quarterfinal win over Carlos Alcaraz. In the semifinal against Alexander Zverev, he lost the first set before deciding to withdraw. His injury now forces him to focus on recovery.

Despite missing their star player, Serbian Davis Cup captain Viktor Troicki is still confident in his team. Serbia will face Denmark’s top-ranked player, Holger Rune, without Djokovic. His absence will be challenging, but the team remains determined.

Djokovic was eager to represent Serbia in the Davis Cup, just as he did in their 2010 victory. However, his priority is now his health. He will work on recovering so he can return stronger for the rest of the season.
