“Time to eat!!!” says Edmen Shahbazyan as he faces Jack Hermansson at UFC 262

Edmen Shahbazyan and Jack Hermansson

Last night the news announced by UFC shocked the world as the promotion announced its main event bout of UFC 262. With Khabib Nurmagomedov retiring officially, Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler will be fighting for the vacant lightweight title. Soon after this huge news, there was an addition made to the PPV event of UFC 262.

Jack Hermansson is returning to the octagon matched opposite to No.12 ranked Edmen Shahbazyan. This is a serious fight as Jack is looking to get back to working on that title shot as Edmen looks to cement his position as a top 10 fighter in the middleweight division. This news was announced by LA Times’ Manouk Akopyan.

Hermansson was very close to getting his title shot in 2019 but he couldn’t keep his winning streak going with 2 wins out of the 3 bouts. But ever since “The Joker” submitted middleweight contender, Kelvin Gastelum in the very first round, he has always been a part of the elite fighters.

Shahbazyan on the other hand has managed to seal his first-ever main event slot against Derek Brunson. “The Golden Boy” had a lot of stake riding on him as he was 11-0-0 up until that fight. He is coming off a defeat against Derek Brunson from last August.
