Renowned Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet and Carmelo Anthony share a common bond – their love for the New York Knicks. Chalamet has been an avid fan of the Knicks since his childhood days, while Anthony will go down as one of the greatest players to ever play for the esteemed franchise.
Carmelo Anthony spent six years with the Knicks from 2011-17, taking the Knicks to the playoffs three times, including an Eastern Conference Semifinal appearance in 2013. The 2012-13 campaign was the most productive season for Anthony, as he claimed the scoring title, averaging 28.7 points per game, and was selected to the All-NBA Second Team.
During the 2017 offseason, the 41-year-old demanded a trade and was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The departure of the 10-time NBA All-Star was not on the best of terms, as Anthony had multiple conflicts with Phil Jackson, who was the President of the Knicks back then.
While, Anthony ended his career without an NBA championship, he is still regarded as one of the greatest scorers of the game and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (Class of 2025).
Timothee Chalamet is often seen courtside whenever the Knicks take to the court. The Hollywood star was a prominent figure in the front row last season during the Knicks’ 2025 playoff run. Being a diehard fan, Chalamet has been through it all with the franchise.
The actor appeared on the latest episode of 7PM in Brooklyn with Anthony and spoke about being in attendance for Anthony’s homecoming game with the Knicks in 2011.
I remember being there. Against the Bucks and Chauncey was there too. It was one of those topmost seats but I would always find a way down (on which seats he got). That was an amazing night.

Anthony’s debut for the Knicks ended in a 114-108 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in a game that saw the forward score 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds. It was a memorable night for the star, who was given a hero’s welcome on the court.

Timothee Chalamet’s first New York Knicks game
In 2006, a 10-year-old Chalamet’s Christmas gift was tickets to his first-ever New York Knicks game live. It was a match against the Denver Nuggets led by Carmelo Anthony at Madison Square Garden. The Nuggets drafted Anthony as the number three pick in the 2003 NBA draft.
While it was one of the most joyous moments in Chalamet’s life, what transpired at the end of the game was something Anthony is not proud of.

One of my first games, I was 10 years old. Denver Nuggets versus New York Knicks. If you look at the footage, I snuck down with my buddy Brett. You can see the players getting [into the tunnel], and it’s very pixelated on the footage, but you can see a little kid going nuts. That was me.

It was one of the few moments of frustration from Anthony that he regrets to date. As Chalamet spoke about the game, Anthony mentioned how he made a vow to Mardy Collins that he would never speak about the incident again. An embarrassing moment for the NBA star but a proud one for the actor.
