TJ McConnell TRANSFORMED into Michael Jordan in Game 3, claims Jaylen Brown
Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics beat out the fast-paced Indiana Pacers to book their return to the NBA Finals after missing out last year.
Jaylen Brown refers to TJ McConnell for turning into Michael Jordan in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals
Jaylen Brown went viral for claiming that some of the Indiana Pacers players turned into Michael Jordan in the 1st half of Game 3. That led Brown and his Boston Celtics teammates to be baffled at halftime.
Today, after sweeping them in Game 4, the now Eastern Conference Finals MVP was asked about his hard foul on TJ McConnell. While replying to the press, he brought back the Jordan reference again.
I was just going for the ball. The game is so fast. You know, just trying to make a play on the ball. I think I got him in the face a little bit. TJ is my guy. Got nothing but respect for TJ McConnell. TJ is a dog. When I said that some of those guys turned into Michael Jordan, TJ McConnell was who I was talking about. He is one of the more unstoppable players on that team.Jaylen Brown said
This was Jaylen Brown‘s way of giving respect to McConnell as the Indiana Pacers raced out to a double-digit lead in the 1st half of Game 3. He knew his foul shook up McConnell a bit, which is why he gave him his flowers as well.
TJ McConnell came off the bench and turned in Michael Jordan, to score 23 points while grabbing 9 rebounds and 6 assists to help his team overcome the loss of Tyrese Haliburton. In the process, he and his teammates led an attack that the Celtics could not figure out how to stop.
That all-out attack in the first half gave the Pacers hope that they could wrestle the series back in their favor. They did all they could, but the Boston Celtics figured out a way to slow the Pacers down enough. That way they clawed back into the game and won it in the dying seconds.
Jaylen Brown and Boston Celtics have time to rest before NBA Finals
With today’s game 4 win, the Boston Celtics have confirmed their return to the NBA Finals in 3 years. This season they are heavily favored to win the NBA title. However, their journey to the Finals has been relatively easy. They have not played more than 5 games in any series.
Finishing this Eastern Conference Finals in 4 games means they get ample rest. The rest will prove crucial before they start the NBA Finals on June 6th, essentially giving them more than ample time to rest their tired bodies. If for whatever reason the Western Conference Finals takes time to finish, the situation is better for the Celtics. They can not only get more rest than their competition but also, they can analyze the teams when they battle live.
All the more reason to be optimistic for their first NBA title since 2008. They are equipped both personnel-wise as well as scheme-wise to win it all.
