UFC lightweight contender Charles Oliveira has done everything a guy can do to get his title shot, but for some reason, he still isn’t getting any chance to compete for the title.

His coaches have revealed that they are not interested in fighting Nate Diaz, their main motive is to compete for the title. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Nate Diaz said that he is intrigued to fight Oliveira but the same can’t be said for Oliveira.

As fun a matchup as this would be this fight is not going to happen anytime soon. Oliveira’s coach Diego Lima said, “To be honest, it is a fight that theoretically makes no sense to us. Nate is not active, much less ranked. It is a fight that would only happen for financial reasons. But even so, I don’t think it would be beneficial for us at this point.”

“We know that McGregor sells a lot. Really who he faces sells well. Nate is not at that level. Our goal is the belt. Even if it is very financially worthwhile, today I do not see this struggle adding to Charles’ career. The goal is only one, the lightweight title.”

Charles Oliveira vs Dustin Poirier for the title?

The former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said that he is going to meet Dana White to ask him to move forward with the division as he is not coming back, he also believes that Dustin Poirier is the rightful champion after his fight with Conor.

Oliveira is also on an eight-fight winning streak so maybe UFC will book these two for the title match. If this match were to happen as Oliveira’s ground skills are impeccable and Poirier’s striking don’t need any introduction.
