The tournament has now progressed into the round of 16s. In what is expected to be an entertaining contest in the men’s beach volleyball, Mexico, comprising of Gaxiola Leyva and Rubio Kamargo, will take on Brazil’s pair of Cerutti Alison and Morais Filho Alvaro at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Mexico vs Brazil Match Preview
Mexico did not have a very fruitful start to its campaign. The duo of Gaxiola and Rubio struggled against ROC and Czech Republic in their first two encounters. However, what led to their revival was their tremendous win against Lativa. They defeated the Latvian duo in two straight sets by 21-18, 21-16 and made their way into the round of 16.
On the other hand, Brazil has delivered dominating performances at the Olympics. Apart from the one encounters against the USA, Brazil cornered its opponents without much hassle in other games. The Dutch and Argentinian teams had no answers to the questions asked by the Brazilian duo.
Now, when the tournament is reaching its business end, Brazil would like to leave behind the memory of the defeat against USA and would be aiming to go past Mexico in order to move into the next stage.

This Round of 16 encounter between Mexico and Brazil will take place on 2nd August 2021. The match will be played in Shiokaze Park, located in Tokyo.

Mexico started off in a terrible fashion. However, their last win would have given them a lot of confidence. All points considered, the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of Brazil. The Brazilian duo has looked extremely dominant and they will not allow Mexico to settle in. The attacking tactics and incredible agility of the Brazilian team makes it a very difficult team to go past.
