Wrestling will be sending its largest-ever contingent along with shooting and both are expected to win medals for India.
There have been several predictions about the medal hauls of the Indian team, including the analytical company Gracenote, which has accurately predicted several medal hauls over the year. Gracenote predicts that India will win 17 medals especially across shooting and wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics.
The global news agency Associated Press has predicted that India will win its biggest ever medal haul with 11 total medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze.

It predicts that India will win 4 gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, and all of these are expected to come from shooting. Along with these 4 golds, India is predicted to win 3 silver and 4 bronze.
Experts predict that India will win 2 medals in archery, 1 medal in boxing, 1 medal in weightlifting, and 4 bronze medals in wrestling.
