Tokyo Olympics: USA men complete clean sweep in 4 x 400m Relay, claim their second consecutive gold medal

USA men claimed their second successive medal in Men’s 4 x 400m Relay, as they defended their crown, just like the women did. USA men were lightning quick, as they gave their competitors no chance of coming back into contnetion.

USA clocked a time of 2:55.70, as they registered their season best. Netherlands came home to take the silver medal, whereas, Botswana took the bronze medal. The last two places on the podium was closely contested for, as more than four teams were in contention.

USA Women had earlier claimed the gold medal in Women’s 4 x 400m Relay, and it was the turn of the men to end their campaign at Tokyo Olympics on a high. The Americans were placed in the fourth lane, and started the race off on a blistering pace.

Jamaica who took the silver medal at Rio Olympics, could not finish among the podium places. Jamaica finished sixth, as they could not keep up with the leading pack. Belgium were agonizingly close to winning a bronze medal, but it was Botswana who held their nerves to clinch the last place on the podium.
