Tokyo Olympics: USA defend their crown, win their second successive gold medal in Women’s 4 × 400 meters relay

USA Women took the gold in the relay

USA took the gold medal in Women’s 4 × 400 meters relay as they defended their crown once again. USA women clocked their season best, as they recorded a timing of 3:16.85. Poland continued their good form in track and field events, as they came home to take a silver.

On the other hand, Jamaica took the bronze medal, with a timing of 3:21.24. However, it was USA who dominated the race since the very start, and won the race with more than a three second gap from Poland.

USA ended their track and field campaign on a high, as the women’s relay tea defended their gold medal in Women’s 4 × 400 metres relay. At Rio 2016, USA came home with the gold, whereas, Jamaica secured the silver medal. Great Britain, who won a bronze medal five years ago, could finish only fifth.

Canada came agonizingly close to winning a medal, as they came in fourth, just 60 milliseconds off Jamaica. Belgium finished seventh, whereas, the Cubans faltered behind after a good start, and finished eighth. Netherlands, who boasted a strong team also could not make it to the podium, and finished sixth in the penultimate track and field event at Tokyo Olympics.
