In a crucial Pool B match of the women’s beach volleyball, Liliana Fernández and Elsa Baquerizo  of Spain will go up against Xue Chen and Wang Xinxin at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Both teams find themselves at the same position so far, with a win and a loss from their respective two encounters. While Spain notched up a hard fought victory over Netherlands 2-1 (19-21, 21-18, 16-14) in their first group game, they came up short against the formidable team from USA and lost in straight sets 0-2 (13-21, 16-21).

On the other hand, China, after opening their campaign in Tokyo with a straight set loss to USA 0-2 (17-21, 19-21), came back strongly and survived some anxious moments before defeating Netherlands 2-1 (19-21, 31-29, 15-13).
