The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions, which means, if it happens, they will be the first franchise in NFL history to three-peat. Football GOAT Tom Brady knows a thing or two about playing under such pressure, as he was part of a team, that like Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, was in a position to be the first to three-peat.
He was asked based off that by Stephen A. Smith at the Fanatics Fest in New York, to suggest who he thinks are the biggest threats to the three-peat. The 7-time Super Bowl came up with a rather straightforward answer.
I think it's probably still the 49ers, and the Packers, I think, are going to be a great team. And you know what, the Rams are going to be a good team this year, too.Tom Brady said
Brady is not speaking just from what the noise has been coming from media circles. He has studied all the teams and their moves as part of his preparation ahead of his regular season broadcasting debut. Suppose his preparations suggest that the San Francisco 49ers and the Green Bay Packers are legitimate threats to the three-peat, there must be some validity to it. Everyone is aware of the fact that last year’s Super Bowl runners-up are chomping at the chance to attempt to win it.
But Tom Brady considering the Packers as legitimate contenders suggests they will be a sleeper team. In fact, he is not put away by the fact that Jordan Love will be playing in his second full season. It goes to show that how he looks at teams is different from what normal folk do.
Tom Brady has high praise for Patrick Mahomes
Prior to speaking about the Chief’s contenders, Stephen A. Smith asked Tom Brady about Patrick Mahomes and his potential to be great.
He is in my opinion the best quarterback in the NFL. You know why when I look at him and I see why he is great? I see the way he has endeared himself to his teammates. I see the joy they have when they are out there together. So, I love when I see his rapport with his teammates, with his coaches.Tom Brady answered
Brady wanted to hit the point home that the Chiefs signal called does not go about showing that he is elite and therefore, above the rest of his teammates. Instead, he stays humble and enjoys the ride along with his teammates.
That goes to show that the Kansas City Chiefs superstar has interests in the team above everything else. Brady suggested that Patrick Mahomes is handling off-the-field activities with a level of maturity. It shows that the 28-year-old has his feet firmly on the ground and does not want to stray away from the ultimate goal.
The superstar quarterback has mentioned that he wants to enter the GOAT conversation. That could explain all the factors Brady mentioned, as his ability to throw the football is not the only great attribute about him, but his character too.
