NFL’s biggest event of the calendar, the Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles is still seeping in with the fans. Besides the historical lineup, the event featured Tom Brady‘s Super Bowl broadcasting debut, and the viewers have some thoughts. One of them, Dave Portnoy, did not hesitate to express his frustration in his post on X.

Dave Portnoy, like 123 million other viewers, chose his couch to tune in to the highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX. To call the game, Fox had picked Kevin Burkhardt on play-by-play duties and Tom Brady on analysis. While critics assessed the match, they did not forget the latter. Keen watcher Dave Portnoy brutally called out his novice in his recent tweet bearing proofs.

The Barstool sports founder claimed that Brady did not know when to wrap up his commentary for the commercial breaks. Attaching a video narrating his issue, he expressed frustration over his “still talking” while the break had started.

While the latter is known as the GOAT on the field, the same did not apply to his commentary. Besides Portnoy, the fans also called out Brady’s negligence at various points in the game. Another flaw noted by the fans was his underwhelming performance, and the forced questions that came from Burkhardt to no avail.

Tom Brady’s appearance at the Super Bowl broadcasting booth has drawn controversial takes as is. The fact that the former NFL star got to call an event like that after only 5 months of newscasting experience did not sit well with the fans.

A row of comments requested for Carolina Panthers’ former tight end and No. 1. commentator Greg Olsen to be switched in the second half. The Emmy-Award-winning caster was also the one calling the previous showdown between the Eagles and Chiefs.

NFL releases ‘Road to the Super Bowl’ teaser with Tom Brady

Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, signed a 10-year, $375-million contract with Fox before he had entered the booth. People do not underestimate his experiences and his prowess in the league. Ahead of his Super Bowl debut as a broadcaster, the NFL dedicated an approximately one-minute hype video for the former QB solely.

Hours before the event, the NFL posted ‘Road to the Super Bowl’, highlighting Tom Brady’s accomplishments in a short video. The clip was a montage of the athlete’s wins and losses, accompanied by a commentary by Brady. The NFL star quipped on his experiences as he vowed to take the viewers on the journey of the game.

Much like what the NFL wrote, nobody knows the highs and lows of a football career better than Tom Brady. After all, he has the highest record for making 10 Super Bowl appearances. While his performance as a caster might have been disliked by the viewers, his understanding of the game remains undoubtful. Sure enough, the former QB made the calls he deemed worthy regardless of the scope for progress.
