Last season’s draft was all about the myriad of good-to-great quarterbacks, along with the number of top-quality receivers. The recently concluded 2025 NFL Draft was all about one man, Shedeur Sanders. His hype and the subsequent slide dominated every conversation surrounding the three-day event.
So much so that on one side, fans and analysts were aghast that NFL owners, front office executives, and coaches were trying to make an example out of the Colorado QB. Fans believed his fame and life status drew jealousy from many quarters, and they wanted to put him in his place.
Then, some believe it was a good thing he dropped down that far. Even those from his community threw the idea into the wind that sometimes an athlete should know where to draw the line. In this case, Sanders probably ticked off a lot of people, and his 5th-round selection is reflective of that.
The Cleveland Browns finally selected the 23-year-old in that round even though they had multiple chances before. There is only one other superstar quarterback who has experience of sliding down multiple rounds. Which is why the cast of Impaulsive asked Tom Brady why he thought Sanders dropped.
I actually texted Shedeur, I know him very well. I said, ‘dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that’s your first day.’ Day 2 matters more than the NFL Draft. I was 199. Who can speak on it better than me? Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances… go take advantage of it.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion understood what Shedeur Sanders might have gone through. Which is why he had to send a text with those motivating words in it. He, of all people, understands that this is a moment where the young quarterback needs all the support he can get.
Tom Brady clarifies he had no say in Raiders’ draft selections
There were a few other teams that were allegedly looking at Shedeur Sanders. The New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders had chances, but passed. Many believe Tom Brady is the one who influenced the Raiders not to pick him. But in this interview, he clarified that the rumor was not true.
I wasn’t a part of any evaluation process.

Hearing this, Impaulsive host Mike Majlak interrupted the NFL GOAT and informed him that media veteran, Skip Bayless, claimed Brady had a hand.
That’s the problem with media, everyone can say whatever the f**k they want.

That might be the strongest slap in the face of his longtime fan. Skip Bayless has spent countless hours batting for Brady during his NFL career. However, he talked about Brady’s involvement based on a hunch. That is where the father of three has a problem, especially when he has a great relationship with the Sanders’ after mentoring the now Browns QB a while back.
Brady has mentored Shedeur Sanders and possibly has more insights on the QB
Tom Brady has worked out with just a handful of quarterbacks during his career. One of those happens to be Shedeur Sanders. The pair worked out back in 2020, when the now FOX broadcaster was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady was holding a workout for his new teammates after leaving the New England Patriots after 20 seasons. But he ensured to set time aside to help the then-high school senior. Sanders was there along with his illustrious father, Deion Sanders.
In that private workout, the now Raiders minority owner must have observed enough to understand how good or bad Shedeur Sanders is. It could also be that his close friendship with Deion Sanders and his sons might have forced the Raiders to keep him out of QB decisions to avoid bias.
