Antonio Brown has had a whirlwind of a time after retiring from the NFL. Ever since leaving Tom Brady on the field, he has been through ownership of an AFL team. He has also had run-ins with the law and has been asked to leave the premises on several occasions. Now he dropped a bankruptcy bombshell through his social media, that has sparked wild reactions from netizens.
The former wide receiver seemingly sent out a news from his news network CTESPN that he has filed for bankruptcy. In that news post, it shows Brown running around in his backyard suggesting that he has finally become free. What he might be suggesting is he has become free from being liable to pay his numerous child payment dues and his other obligations which he has not fulfilled so far.
As the news came from his own so-called network, it is not confirmed if he has actually filed for bankruptcy. The reality of it will be revealed as time passes. However, if he has done the same, it could be due to the level of debt the former Super Bowl champion has on himself.
He has earned over $80 million during his time in the NFL. Making it obvious that he has either spent most of it away or he owes people and institutions equal or more than that. Several warrants have been issued in his name for unpaid child support. He also has had to pay a lot of money towards out-of-court settlements for his various (mis)deeds.
