Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos were seen chatting away at Sports Illustrated’s Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix party at the Surf Club on Thursday night. Brady, who owns a mansion in Bezos’ neighborhood in Miami, appeared to be having a good time.

Bezos was uncharacteristically without his Emmy-winning fiancee and journalist Lauren Sanchez. Instead, he was accompanied by celebrity attorney Alex Spiro. It’s unclear the subject of their discussion—perhaps another future joint venture.

Although the pair tried to stay away from the paparazzi, they were caught on a video sharing a shot of Ketel One vodka, according to Page Six. The seven-time Super Bowl winner was wearing chic old-fashioned glasses.

Tom Brady and the second richest man in the world are not new kids on the block when it comes to Formula 1 racing. Brady has a minority stake in the Alpine F1 organization, while Bezos is a McLaren racing supporter.

Tom Brady’s Birmingham City FC got relegated while he was talking with Jeff Bezos

When the 46-year-old decided to become the co-owner of English soccer side Birmingham City FC, the team had renewed hope of playing in the top flight once again. They were last in the English Premier League back in 2011.

Brady’s administration appointed former England national team player Wayne Rooney to kick start their journey back to the Promised Land. It was his third managerial role after stints with Derby County and MLS’s DC United.

When Rooney was appointed, Birmingham were 5th in the league. However, he was sacked after just two wins in 15 games. Experienced coach Tony Mowbray replaced him. He led the team to four wins in eight games but has been on medical leave since February.

After Mowbray, they appointed former City player Gary Rowett, who won 3, drew 2, and lost 3 in the remaining games, sending the team down to League 1, a division they haven’t been part of since 1995.

Tom Brady, who was gearing up to watch Charles LeClerc dominate the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, shared a message for the Birmingham fans on X (formerly Twitter).

Thank you for your support in a tough first year, Bluenoses. We have a long way to go, but it’s because of all of you that we’ll achieve great things in the future.

Tom Brady wrote

The irony is that Rooney’s former team Derby County will take the Midlands club’s place in the championship. Brady’s first year as the owner of a soccer club went as badly as it could.
