Tom Brady Opens up About His Concussion Rumors During Super Bowl 51 to Logan Paul: “I Was on Autopilot”

Tom Brady doesn't clearly remember the final few drives in the Patriots' come-from-behind win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 due to suffering a possible concussion.

Tom Brady may not have been athletically gifted like Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick, but he’s arguably the most clutch player ever to touch a football. The remarkable comeback in Super Bowl 51 against the Atlanta Falcons is the burning proof. However, it’s entirely possible Brady had no clue what he was doing in the final moments of that game due to a concussion.

During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s Impulsive podcast, Brady hinted that he took a big hit to the head moments before setting up James White for the winning play.

I got hit in the head pretty good. I was on autopilot from the last drive in the fourth quarter. There were two drives that were really foggy.

Tom Brady told Paul

After the game, the 47-year-old was physically and mentally drained. It was as if a truck had run over him until the reality rushed back in. By the time he snapped out of the ‘foggy’ state, Brady was a Super Bowl Champion for the fifth time in his career.

In the moment, you’re not seeing it from a fan’s perspective; you’re seeing it from your perspective. And then it takes you a little while to decompress, and then when you watch it, you’re like, ‘Holy —-, how did I do that?’.

Tom Brady revealed

The New England Patriots looked dead and buried after the Falcons raced to a 28-3 lead at halftime. To many, the game was over before the referee even blew the final whistle. However, Patriots fans and even the Falcons players knew the game wasn’t over because they were facing Brady.

Their darkest nightmare came true. Brady forced overtime. He set up running back James White to win the game. Unfortunately, Brady couldn’t stop seeing stars because of the hit to the head.

Tom Brady’s ex-wife confirmed concussion rumors

Usually, the first person to find out about an injury is either the doctor or the player’s partner. In Brady’s case, his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, knew her husband was hit hard.

Bundchen told the CBS This Morning crew in a 2017 appearance that she prefers to keep the skeletons in the closet, but some incidents can’t be kept under lock and key all the time.

As you know, it’s not the most, like, let’s say ‘unaggressive’ sport. Right? Football. Like, he had a concussion last year… He has concussions, pretty much. We don’t talk about it, but he does have concussions.

Gisele Bundchen said

Brady, on the other hand, wasn’t as open as Gisele about his concussion. He outright dismissed the rumors when reporters tried to get an answer out of him.

I don’t really think that’s anybody’s business.

Brady played ball deep into his mid-40s, very well aware of the long-standing repercussions of the sport. Thankfully, he did, because the world had the chance to see him lift two more Lombardi trophies.

He saw success on the field, but off it there was turmoil. After bagging his sixth ring, Bundchen thought her husband would retire and spend more time with his family. Brady had other ideas. He left the Patriots to sign for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won his seventh ring.

Bundchen left Brady and began seeing her jiu-jitsu instructor in Miami. Aside from co-parenting their kids (Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian), Brady no longer has ties with the former Brazilian supermodel; instead, he’s often linked to other famous faces, such as Kim Kardashian or Emily Ratajkowski.
