Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to the AFC Championship game after their win against the Houston Texans. Reaching it for the seventh straight time, only one player has beat the Chiefs more than once in playoffs, Tom Brady.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots gave Mahomes his first AFC Championship game loss. In that game, the Patriots’ experience showed when they scored in each of the first three quarters to take the lead. The then 23-year-old Mahomes put the team on his back and stormed to bring the deficit down.
However, Brady again helped his team back to the lead, only for Patrick Mahomes to engineer a game-tying field goal. In overtime with the ball in their hands, the then 41-year-old star QB drove them down the field. They took advantage of the fact that Mahomes’ defensive teammates were exhausted.
Then, a Rex Burkhead 2-yard touchdown ensured Mahomes would have to wait for his time. But until then, it was still Brady and the Patriots’ time as he decided to troll their opponents after the game. He posted a video where he and tight end Rob Gronkowski were smiling all through.

The clip then phased out into P Diddy‘s song, ‘Bad Boy 4 Life’. The lyrics indicated the Patriots were not going anywhere and were still the benchmark in the AFC. That clip has started to go viral again, especially after Brady trolled Dan Quinn trying to remind everyone of the last time they faced each other.
Patrick Mahomes tried to do the same recently
Another reason the clip went viral was because prior to their Divisional round game against the Houston Texans, Patrick Mahomes did the same. He tried to remind everyone that the Kansas City Chiefs are now the benchmark of the league.
He feels their three Super Bowls in six seasons, along with their seven straight AFC Championship game appearances, set them apart. Therefore, it would be mindful of those facing them to remember that they are the team to beat in the playoffs.
Tom Brady and the Patriots were the standard up until the 2019 Super Bowl win. Since then, it has been the Chiefs as not only the undisputed favorites in the AFC but also a legitimate threat to the Super Bowl every season.
However, they should be wary of their next opponents. The Buffalo Bills are the only team to beat them this season. Moreover, the Bills are still an unknown entity, considering teams are still trying to figure out how they have been this good in a season meant to be a rebuild.
