In Saturday night, we were so prepared and so focused, we were the opposite of tight because we had the answers to the test. I knew that I went through the call sheet. Let's say we had a 150 calls on the call sheet...we'd go through every single play on the call sheet...this is the play and this is the run, what's the one thing that can mess this run up?
Tom Brady said

The mentality that Belichick inculcated within Brady and the team was one to be prepared in advance. So before a game, the Patriots were practicing every single play on the call sheet and figuring out ways in which those plays could be decoded by their opponents.

Tom Brady credited Bill Belichick for not being complacent as a head coach

Brady further went on to compare Belichick’s mentality with that of other head coaches in the NFL.

So most coaches would just say 'Ah just run the play, whatever, if they get lucky and call it the same time, one for them,' And that's not how I play because that one play could mean everything. I would say 'No, No' If It's a 5% chance, it could happen...
Tom Brady added

He then went on to elaborate upon the alternatives that he and Coach Belichick came up with in order to ensure that even if defenses did get aware and attempt to stop their offense, they would fail to succeed.

Tom Brady’s latest interview with Colin Cowherd, wherein he testifies to the preparedness of playing for a coach such as Bill Belichick, speaks volumes about the team success that the Patriots were able to achieve. Imagine having to run all the 150 plays on your entire offensive playbook, over and over again.

It is a tedious task. Now you also need to consider the fact that you are accounting alternatives and anomalies that defenses could come and pose a threat to you. Belichick’s training strategy can be aptly described by the quote, “The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in war.” And the Patriots’ records are indeed a testament to this.
