Tom Brady might be 48 years old, but those who know him are fully aware that his passion for the game is second to none. That is why he took the offer from FOX Sports so that he can stay close to the sport.
For someone who earns millions off endorsement deals and has sizable investments that rake in enough for him to live a luxurious life, signing that $375 million deal was just Brady exercising what he can get from such a job.
During his broadcasting career, the 7-time Super Bowl champion has often been asked if he can return to play in the NFL. This time, it was NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and his co-host, Adam Lefkoe, on The Big Podcast with Shaq.
I’d whoop a** right now. I could go out there and play. Give me a month. I mean, I could play with anybody. I took care of my body.
Tom Brady replied
This answer surprised O’Neal, who has seen numerous examples of how older athletes try, and then fail, to make it when they attempt a comeback of any sort.

Tom Brady did reiterate that he was not ready to commit to a 17-game schedule and then the playoffs. That, no matter how conditioned he is, ends up putting a lot of strain on him.
But when Lefkoe asked if he was willing to return for say one game, something like a Super Bowl, the New England Patriots legend agreed that he would.
Tom Brady reveals Peyton Manning’s breakfast habits
In a later segment of this podcast, Shaquille O’Neal went about asking Tom Brady for diet tips. While speaking about how he manages to stay in shape, the father of three recalled a funny incident.

I’ll take oatmeal, and two scrambled eggs… They’re like, ‘Peyton, what do you want?’ He’s like, ‘I want biscuits, gravy, three pancakes, six bacons, I want three sausages.’ I’m like, ‘You eat all that s**t?’
Tom Brady recalled
This was back in 2010, when the two all-time greats got together at Peyton Manning‘s Tennessee home just to talk and rack their brains about football.

Brady recalls that Manning would eat all that food, as it was the southern style of leaning into their comfort food whenever they could get their hands on it.
In contrast, the FOX broadcaster decided to stick with what had helped him stay in shape throughout all those years. Even when Adam Lefkoe asked if he was tempted by it, Brady replied that he was not and stuck to what he wanted.
Tom Brady reveals he was not ‘mad’ about his roast
Towards the end of the podcast, Shaquille O’Neal recalled Tom Brady’s roast and how it caused a furor. The 4-time NBA champion then asked the quarterback if he was mad about how it turned out.
No, I wasn’t mad. I think a lot of people love being made fun of. Because when they make fun of you, you know they are comfortable with you. Then you know you’re really friends… When we did that in the roast, it was funny because you know that all those guys who are doing that are your brothers.
Tom Brady replied
Brady reiterated that there was an element of shock when it came to what those roasting him could talk about. But in the end, he was glad it happened.
After the roast, the former signal caller had to manage a situation in his house, as roasts about his former wife, Gisele Bundchen, became media fodder, and it ended up impacting his children. Apparently, Brady apologized to his supermodel ex-wife.
