Tom Brady would have handled the situation at the New York Giants differently if he were in Daniel Jones’ shoes. The seven-time Super Bowl winner did not sound too pleased with how the 27-year-old asked for a release following the team’s 2-9 start to the season.
Brady was at AT&T Stadium as part of the FOX Sports contingent to cover the Thanksgiving fixture between the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants took the lead, but the Cowboys crawled back in with a DeMarvion Overshown pick-six to lead 7-13.
It was natural that Brady and co-announcer Kevin Burkhardt would discuss Daniel Jones’ departure from the New York franchise during the game. Burkhardt highlighted how the Giants demoted Jones to fourth choice and even used him as an extra safety in the practice a couple of days before he asked for a release.
Brady interjected that he was surprised by Jones choosing to leave the Giants instead of fighting for his position. The 47-year-old claimed he would have done the opposite—stick around and do whatever the coach told him to do.

Unlike Daniel Jones, Tom Brady prefers a team-first approach
No one can deny the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback always had a team-first attitude. He frequently accepted pay cuts so that his team could add quality players. It brought them multiple rings.
Brady brought up going through a tough time in college (Michigan Wolverines), where he sat out the first two years before making a name for himself.
The multiple-time Super Bowl MVP was ready to take on any job the coach assigned to him to get in his good books.
Brady’s retired, and Daniel Jones has moved on from the Giants. The Duke University graduate joined his friend Sam Darnold at the Minnesota Vikings (9-2) until the end of the season.
