Bill Belichick and Tom Brady may be reunited in the near future. The irony is that their roles might be reversed.

After a year-long wait, the NFL owners finally approved the 7x Super Bowl winner’s bid to buy a 5% stake in the Raiders. The deal is only waiting to receive the official announcement during the league’s fall meeting.

In the meantime, Mark Davis introduced Brady to the front office and the Raiders team on Wednesday, and make no mistake, some of them will not be there a year from now. According to reports, the 46-year-old will take an active part in the team’s decisions, which include changes to the coaching staff, drafting, and trading for a player.

Renowned football enthusiast Kirk Minihane hinted during a recent episode of his podcast that the first move Tom Brady will make is appointing Bill Belichick.

I won’t get [into] specifics, but people have told me that [Tom] Brady’s first move is going to [be] to ask Bill Belichick if he’s interested in being coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. Two sources have told me that. Two high-up sources in the Patriots organization have told me that.

Kirk Minihane said

So, if a 2-4 result after six weeks of football wasn’t enough, then this sudden announcement puts an X mark on Antonio Pierce. Despite the terrible results and the trade of Davante Adams to the Jets, Pierce was thought to be safe for now, which no longer is the case. Of course, he still has time to go on a winning run until the fall meeting.

Tom Brady’s next target after Bill Belichick has to be a quarterback

The Raiders have struggled massively after Josh McDaniels and Mark Davis forced Derek Carr out of Vegas. Since then Davis fired McDaniels and his team, replaced three quarterbacks, and is currently operating with a former fourth-rounder, Aidan O’Connell, who has a 5-6 record with just over 2600 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.

Depending on the results, the Raiders may have no choice but to draft a quarterback, which they passed on in 2024 despite a loaded class. 2025 also has some big names whom Brady can eye as their future franchise quarterback. The first name on the list has to be Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.

According to NFLDraftBuzz.com, Sanders will be the first quarterback to be taken and fifth overall next year. Raiders are on course to finish with the 11th overall pick, but they can trade up to fifth, held by the Los Angeles Rams.

The Patriots, Jaguars, and Panthers most likely will not draft a QB, so the Raiders have to strike a deal with the Rams and Titans (in 6th) and draft Sanders. Recently Sanders met with Davis, and the veteran owner said he might end up a Raider next year.

Even Brady has a prior connection with the Buffaloes QB. He is great friends with Shedeur’s father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, and also the coach of Colorado. Not too long ago, the trio even shot a video together in which Brady can be seen teaching Shedeur some of his old tricks.

Everything now rests upon how the Raiders finish the 2024 season. Up next, they will travel to LA and play against the Rams in week 7.
