The Game 3 between the Washington Capitals and the Montreal Canadiens saw chaos being erupted. Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson exchanged haymakers on the bench during a wild fight on Friday.

The Canadiens entered Game 3 on Friday searching for a win and trying not to fall 3-0 down in the series. At a jam packed Bell Centre in Montreal, the Habs ended the second period through a goal from Cole Caufield which gave them a 3-2 lead.

Things escalated from here onwards. After some verbal exchanges and some pushing and shoving, Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson grabbed each other and started throwing punches at each other.

The fight between them took place at the Capitals’ bench. The two of them would drop heavy hits on each other as the officials tried to separate them. Anderson would later fall down on the bench, but Wilson kept on going.

Meanwhile, the other players kept on slightly pushing and shoving each other. However, no more fights broke out during this wild scrum on the bench between Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson. Check out a video regarding this fight below:

The two players would get a 10-minute misconduct penalty and a 2-minute roughing penalty. Meanwhile, Habs defenseman Arber Xhekaj and Capitals’ star Lars Eller were also given a 2-minute roughing penalty. Xhekaj had previously exchanged some words with Wilson during the warm-up and had shoved him, which resulted in this altercation.

Game 3 of the Washington Capitals-Montreal Canadiens first round series ignited at the end of the second period. A massive fight took place between Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson as the two of them squared off. After the fight, Wilson would mock Anderson with a fake crying reaction.

The fight between them started after Arber Xhekaj had a verbal confrontation with Wilson. The Capitals alternate captain and Anderson would grab each other and fight all the way over to the bench.

Wilson seemed to be in control of the fight and seemingly emerged as the winner as he dropped his opponent to the ground. Anderson would get up and skate away from the scene into the locker room along with Xhekaj.

As the two Canadiens players skated away, Wilson got up and shouted some words. He would then mock them with a fake crying reaction while the crowd at the Bell Centre continued to chant “Ole” to hype up their team.

Canadiens earn important 6-3 win over Capitals in Game 3

The Washington Capitals entered the game on Friday riding high in confidence. A first-ever playoff overtime winner from Alex Ovechkin in Game 1, and a two-goal effort from Connor McMichael saw them take a 2-0 series lead. The Montreal Canadiens got the result they wanted in Game 3 and emerged as 6-3 winners to claim their first win of this series.

The fight between Tom Wilson and Josh Anderson ignited a fire inside both teams. Ovechkin leveled the game for his side at 3-3 inside the opening 3 minutes of the 3rd period.

The Canadiens then came out swinging and scored 3 times in 12 minutes. Goals from Christian Dvorak, Juraj Slafkovsky and Alex Newhook saw them take Game 3 by a 6-3 scoreline and pick up a vital win.

The 4th game of this first-round series will take place on Sunday night. After this, the series will go back to the Capital One Arena for Game 5 on Tuesday, April 29.
