Czech tennis star Tomas Berdych is optimistic about the partnership between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic heading into the 2025 season. The tennis world was surprised by the announcement that the British icon would become Djokovic’s new coach.
Berdych, who competed against both players for much of his career, believes their strong connection will make the collaboration successful. Murray is set to begin working with Djokovic during the off-season this month to prepare for the new season.
Berdych had numerous battles with both Djokovic and Murray throughout his career. Against Djokovic, he had a challenging 3-25 record in one of the most one-sided rivalries. However, he managed to beat the Serb in their final meeting during the Wimbledon 2017 quarterfinals.
His record against Murray was better, standing at 6-11. Their last match took place in Doha in 2017. Berdych retired from professional tennis in 2019, leaving behind a memorable career.

Ailsa Erskine shared a photo of herself backstage with Murray before the performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The picture captured the family moment, showing the former World No.1 embracing his cousin after the show.
Murray retired from professional tennis in August after competing at the Paris Olympics. His final match was a loss in the men’s doubles quarterfinals, where he teamed up with Dan Evans.
The 37-year-old ended his career with an impressive record. He won 46 titles, including two Wimbledon championships and one US Open. Murray also earned three Olympic medals, retiring as one of the greatest players in tennis history.
