After clinching a 2-0 World Series lead following Game 2 triumph over the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers are now just two more wins away from clinching the crown. Tommy Edman is hopeful that the team can finish the job in New York.
As the Dodgers acquired home advantage throughout the World Series due to the best record in the league, the first two games of the best-of-seven series saw them host the Yankees in California. Following a perfect start, they are now heading to New York for Games 3, 4 and possibly 5.
In a squad filled with stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, Tommy Edman was the one who was named the NLCS MVP. Following his heroics in the Championship Series, the South Korean international stayed hot and opened the scoring in Game 2 of the World Series with a solo home off Carlos Rodon.
This home run along with bombs from Teoscar Hernandez and Freeman, saw the Los Angeles-based outfit clinch Game 2 by a score of 4-2. After the game, he was asked by MLB’s Tom Verducci about how he felt about taking a 2-0 lead to New York which led to him stating that it was a “great feeling“.
Yeah, it’s a great feeling you know. That was huge to get those two wins at home here, and hopefully, we can finish out the job in New York.

Tommy Edman receives huge praise from Freddie Freeman after World Series Game 2
When the 2024 season started, Tommy Edman was playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. It was on the trade deadline day that he was sent to the Dodgers. Even then he would struggle with his batting.
However, the 29-year-old has become hot just when the Dodgers would have wanted him. In the postseason, he has collected 19 hits along with two home runs and 13 RBIs. This performance has earned him huge praise from Freddie Freeman.

Freeman, who himself achieved a historic feat with his home run in Game 2, called him a “good baseball player” and claimed those hits by him were what helped teams win games in the postseason.
When you have a guy that can move around the diamond switch hitting just puts quality ABs up every single time. He’s been hitting home runs for us. It’s those that that’s what helps ballgame ball teams win ballgames. He is just what you call it a really good baseball player and they did a great job getting that getting him in the trade.

Freeman and Edman would be hoping to continue their good form as the series now shifts to New York. Walker Buehler and Clarke Schmidt will start for the Dodgers and the Yankees respectively in Game 3 which be played on October 28 at 5:08 p.m. PT and 8:08 p.m. ET on Fox.
