It was not meant for Tommy Fleetwood again. The English golfer suffered a late heartbreaking loss against Keegan Bradley at the 2025 Travelers Championship. Following the round, the golfer expressed that he was left ‘upset‘ and ‘gutted‘ with this loss.
The Englishman has been one of the top performers on the PGA Tour in recent years. While being constantly in the top rankings, the golfer has made over $31 million in career earnings from playing on the tour. However, he is yet to win an official PGA Tour event.
This week, it seemed Fleetwood would finally get in the winners’ circle on the PGA Tour as he led the event for a long time. With scores of 66, 65, and 63 in the first three rounds, the 34-year-old seemed to be on track for his first win on the tour.
However, he had a poor start on Sunday. He would bogey 3 of the first 4 holes on the front nine and finish with a 2-over score. On the back nine, he did make 2 birdies to get under even par again only to bogey 2 of the last 3 holes to fall back 2-over again.
He would lead the tournament until the final hole. On the 18th hole, Keegan Bradley would make a birdie with a 6-foot putt to clinch the title and break the heart of Fleetwood.

While speaking with the reporters in the post round conference, Fleetwood expressed that he needs to get into another winning position soon.
Pretty gutted right now. A couple of wrong clubs down the last couple. Obviously didn’t putt great today… I’m upset now, I’m angry… I obviously played great, I put myself in a great position, I was leading the tournament for 71 holes. I just want to make sure that I can put myself in this position as soon as possible again and try and correct what I did this time.

This was Fleetwood’s 5th top-10 finish of the 2025 season on the PGA Tour. Before missing the cut at the U.S. Open last week, he had finished T4, his best of the year until the Travelers Championship, at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Ryder Cup drama stirs up as Keegan Bradley knocks down Tommy Fleetwood at Travelers Championship
Up until the final hole, it seemed like Tommy Fleetwood would finally be a PGA Tour winner. However, fortune was on Keegan Bradley‘s side. The former major champion would come back and knock down Fleetwood to clinch the title and stirred up some Ryder Cup drama.

As he was playing in his home region, the crowd was firmly behind Bradley in the final round. As he kept inching closer, fans would throw in “USA” chants. After his second shot landed just a few feet away from the hole, the crowd would roar in delight.
Bradley would end up making the birdie putt, which saw him clinch the title. Chants of “USA” would once again break out as the golfer celebrated his 8th PGA Tour win and his 2nd victory in this tournament in 3 years, wildly.

Bradley is the current captain of Team USA for the upcoming Ryder Cup. So, for him to go out there and win against Fleetwood, who will likely be part of Team Europe in the upcoming months, was special for him.

With this win, Bradley moved up to 9th in the Ryder Cup points standings of Team USA. There are chances that he could pick himself and become the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963.
Speaking of the Ryder Cup, the biennial tournament between Team USA and Team Europe this year will take place at the Bethpage Course in New York. Bradley, who missed out on the event in 2023, would be hoping to take back the title this year as Team USA suffered a crushing defeat in Rome last time out.
