Uncle Toni slams Novak Djokovic’s father, says Roger is a good person

World no.1 Novak Djokovic won his 18th grand slam last month, defeating Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final at Melbourne. This was also Novak’s 9th Australian Open title. And soon after that his father, Srdjan Djokovic took a dig at Roger Federer and said that the Swiss is not a good person.

This comment by Papa Djokovic was not taken well by Rafael Nadal’s Uncle and former coach Toni Nadal. Recently, Uncle Toni spoke about Srdjan’s comments and defended Federer.

He said: “Roger is a good person and Novak too.” Novak’s father also spoke about how the rules seem to be different for Federer/Nadal and Novak.

Toni Nadal was Rafa’s coach for over a decade and discontinued their professional relationship because he didn’t want to travel all year round due to his age. He spoke about Rafa’s training ahead of the Clay season.

Toni said: “He is pumped up, I saw him training in Mallorca and I think he is playing pretty well. He can have a good clay court season.”

A day back, Canadian youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime appointed Toni Nadal as his coach for the upcoming clay court season. The association of the duo has no definitive end date as Rafael Nadal’s former coach hopes to take the Canadian to newer highs.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal is set to begin his Clay season at the Monte Carlo Masters next week.
