Toni Storm is one of the most successful AEW stars in history. Her run as the AEW Women’s World Champion was nothing short of legendary, highlighting not only her talent in the ring but her character work as well. However, ever since dropping her title to Mariah May, Storm has been on a miserable losing streak. Ultimately, it became so frustrating that the 29-year-old has decided to retire from pro wrestling.
Speaking with James Dator of SBNation, Storm openly expressed her frustrations about failing to create any impact since losing the AEW Women’s World Title. She said that AEW does not need her anymore; hence, she has decided to step away from professional wrestling. In fact, ‘Timeless’ even claimed that she is not interested in making any public appearances as well.
I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again.

While Toni Storm looked heartbroken with her series of losses, it is highly unlikely that she would be stepping away from the ring at the age of 29. It could be a setup for a potential break before she makes her anticipated AEW return. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how Storm’s story unfolds from here on.

Moreover, the Kiwi star has been absent from AEW TV since dropping her title to Mariah May at All In: London. Although she has competed in two singles matches in Stardom and CMLL each, she failed to emerge victorious in both bouts. Going through such a difficult time, Storm could be looking to focus on some new ventures before making another pro wrestling appearance.
Toni Storm could make her AEW return this Saturday at Full Gear
AEW is all set to host their next pay-per-view Full Gear from Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey. The show is going to feature Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa, who will be hosting a ‘champagne title celebration.’ Ever since the announcement of this celebration, there has been speculation about the possible return of Toni Storm as an uninvited guest at the show.

May and Storm have unfinished business, stemming from their summer rivalry. However, ever since Storm was defeated at All In, she has refrained from mentioning The Glamorous One. Given the heat between the two, AEW could be positioning Storm for a return sooner than later to go up against May.
Full Gear could be the stage where the Kiwi star makes her anticipated return and ruins the celebration of the AEW Women’s World Champion. Storm also has a history with Shirakawa; hence, it would be quite intriguing to see the encounter between the two ladies if this scenario unfolds this Saturday.
