Tony Ferguson who is currently stuck in a rut, has found himself a new coach in renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach. The 37-year old ‘El Cucuy’ hasn’t had things going his way of late, but has promised that he still has plenty of gas left in his tank. Hiring Roach would probably do Tony a world of good, since Roach has trained superstar boxers like Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, and the list goes on.

Freddie Roach took to Twitter, posting an image of himself and Tony Ferguson, standing by a boxing ring. Tony Ferguson, later took to social media thanking Roach and sharing a message on Instagram saying that 2021 would be better.

Tony Ferguson had a torrid 2020. He took on Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, and lost via TKO, which snapped his incredible streak of 12 wins. He then took on Charles Oliveira at UFC 256, and was completely battered and dominated by the Brazilian. At a point, Tony even had his arm almost snapped off. Many felt that, Tony was ‘washed’, especially after the way he was controlled by the brilliant Oliveira. But Tony will be hoping to shrug it all off and show remarkable bounce-back ability.

Do you think hiring Freddie Roach will have a positive impact on Tony Ferguson?
