Tony Hinchcliffe took aim at LeBron James for Kamala Harris support following Donald Trump's MSG Rally

LeBron James was all over the news when he announced his endorsement of Kamala Harris for president. He went on to post a controversial video of a Donald Trump rally at Madison Square Garden.

The video featured comedian Tony Hinchcliffe making racially charged jokes. James accused Hinchcliffe of perpetuating harmful stereotypes, sparking backlash from the comedian.

The video shared by LeBron James was an edited segment of Hinchcliffe’s performance, showcasing a moment where the comedian joked about carving watermelons with a Black friend. In his latest comedy special, Hinchcliffe claimed the clip misrepresented his intent, alleging that the edits stripped the joke of its context.

LeBron James comes at me on Twitter for the first time. These f*cking celebrities. Did you guys know, first of all, LeBron called me a racist, and he edited a video… The video basically starts with me going, ‘Black guy carves watermelon,’ like it’s the craziest fcking thing you’ve ever seen. It’s just the beginning, the middle, and the end of a joke.

Tony Hinchcliffe said in his stand-up routine

Hinchcliffe’s defense centers around context, arguing that his remarks were part of a broader setup and not intended to be offensive. He described the environment at the rally and explained how his comments were intended as lighthearted banter.

This isn’t his first brush with controversy. At the same rally, he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage,” drawing ire from both political parties.

James’ intentions while sharing the video endorsing Harris were to showcase the alleged ‘racist’ and ‘insensitive’ remarks that were spewed across rallies hosted by President-elect Trump. However, Hinchliffe took severe offense to being included in the video, continuing by taking shots at James’s eldest son, Bronny James.

Tony Hinchcliffe fires shots at Bronny James after LeBron James’ rant

Tony Hinchcliffe didn’t limit his rebuttal to the edited video. During his special, he turned his attention to LeBron James’ legacy and even took aim at his eldest son Bronny James, who was drafted with the 55th pick in this year’s draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

F*ck LeBron James. He’s lost six NBA championships… And his son is a JV piece of s**t. Nepotism at its finest, he has no business being in the NBA.

Tony Hinchcliffe stated

LeBron’s political endorsements and social activism have consistently positioned him as a polarizing figure beyond the basketball court. But his 20-year-old son certainly does not deserve to get caught up in Hinchcliffe’s tirade towards him.

Bronny, however, seems unfazed by the comments. The rookie guard has been focused on his development, recently making his return to the court after recovering from a left heel contusion. In his latest performance with the South Bay Lakers, Bronny recorded a season-high 16 points, along with four rebounds and two assists, in a win against the Stockton Kings.
