A few months ago, Lex Luger finally received the long-awaited news of his induction into the Hall of Fame this year. He expressed his desire to be inducted by his lifelong friend, WCW and AEW legend Sting, at the ceremony the night before WrestleMania 41 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. However, many fans doubted whether The Icon could attend a WWE event due to his AEW commitments.

AEW president Tony Khan has now addressed the possibility of Sting inducting his former rival into the WWE Hall of Fame. According to Sean Ross Sapp, when asked about the situation, Khan said he wasn’t sure how the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion would respond. He admitted they spoke briefly before AEW Revolution, but the topic didn’t come up.

Talking about his Hall of Fame induction, current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes surprised Luger and Diamond Dallas Page. The American Nightmare announced that Luger would be inducted alongside Triple H, Michelle McCool, and The Natural Disasters. Luger, who famously won the 1994 Royal Rumble alongside Bret Hart, also captured multiple championships during his legendary WCW career.

Sting retired from professional wrestling, with his final match being a Tornado Tag against The Young Bucks for the Tag Team Titles at AEW Revolution last year. He remains under a Legends contract with the Jacksonville-based company. If the decision is up to him, WWE fans might see The Stinger return to induct his longtime friend and rival.

Sting announces new dates for ‘2025 or Never’ convention tour

Since retiring from in-ring competition last year, Sting has added new dates to his 2025 convention tour. Recently, the Hall of Famer announced that while he will continue attending conventions, he will no longer appear in full Sting attire after 2025, meaning he won’t be wearing his signature face paint.

A week ago, The Stinger shared an updated schedule of his upcoming appearances on X, along with a picture. He has 20 appearances remaining this year, starting with Astronomicon in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on April 5. Throughout April, he will attend three more conventions in South Carolina, Nevada, and Alabama.

I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world. As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear. I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.

Sting’s final appearance of the year will be at Wrestleverse Fest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 20. Fans eager to meet the legend can attend a nearby convention, especially since he won’t be appearing in full gear starting next year.
