Tony Khan draws negative reaction from people within AEW after labeling WWE as the Harvey Weinstein of pro-wrestling: Reports
Tony Khan seemingly has his own peers up in arms following contentious remarks.

Tony Khan and taking shots at WWE—what a love story. However, the remark that has the AEW president being bashed left and right is the one he made prior to the NFL draft. Khan joined the NFL network while donning a neck brace, and he claimed that WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro-wrestling. Consequently, the fans resorted to reprimanding the Jaguars executive on social media.
However, an update has now emerged on how people within Khan’s own wrestling promotion perceive the entire situation. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez gave a general outline of the internal uproar after reaching out to his contacts at AEW as well as WWE. While those in the Stamford-based promotion thought what Tony said was ridiculous, a lot in AEW share the same notion.
It’s common knowledge that there are a ton of names in AEW, including the on-screen talent who’re friends with those in WWE. They’ve taken exception to WWE as a whole being painted in such a grotesque light by Tony Khan.
It’s not Greek to anyone that Khan’s comments were primarily directed towards Vince McMahon and the misdeeds he has committed over the years. However, comparing the entire company to Weinstein, a convicted s*x offender, doesn’t seem justified at all.
Tony’s claims sound even more distorted now that McMahon is no longer associated with WWE. The 78-year-old has his remaining TKO shares up for sale, ending his decades-long ties with the company. Unequivocally, the AEW CEO has garnered some sort of buzz owing to his recent exploits.
Tony Khan sold AEW on-screen attack during the NFL Draft
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan was flattened by Jack Perry and The Elite for good. To sell off the beating he sustained, the 41-year-old turned up for the NFL Draft half-broken.
He was spotted with a neck brace and was announced to be the first ever NFL executive in the draft room to be shaking off the effects of a piledriver he received on national television.
The fans lauded his commitment to the business. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Chief Football Strategy Officer soon leveled up the playing field with his brazen Harvey Weinstein dig at WWE.
Last Friday on AEW Rampage, it was announced that Khan would avoid traveling to shows and would run AEW remotely for the time being.
