The playoff game between the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills is an interesting matchup but for experienced CBS announcer Tony Romo, it has not been as expected. On a night when the fans ought to be criticizing the performance of players on the field, it is Romo’s performance that is being questioned.

One statement from the former Cowboys quarterback touched the nerve of fans and warranted a response from ex-NFL player Chase Daniel. While talking about Bo Nix and his progression this season, Romo spoke highly of him.

He may have taken it a step too far as he drew a comparison between seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and Nix.

Not sure anyone expects Bo Nix to do anything here at the end of the half, no one knew who Tom Brady was at one point.

Tony Romo said

His statement can be interpreted in multiple ways, a better way to phrase this would have been by stating ‘Although nothing is expected of Bo Nix at the end of halftime, he can set the expectations with his performance and showcase that the moment is never too big for him.’

Tony Romo received the ire of fans for excessively praising Josh Allen without any reason

Romo has been an outspoken fan of Josh Allen. However, his favoritism tends to impact his neutrality and that can be inferred by the viewers during games. The former NFL quarterback heaped praises on Allen over regular passes and propped them up to be bigger plays than they actually were.

Fans are increasingly growing frustrated with his takes and in order to watch the game without disturbance, few are claiming they resort to muting the television when Romo is in the broadcasting booth. Here’s how fans reacted via X:

Unfortunately for the fans sick of Tony Romo, his contract with CBS runs through 2026, and he gets paid over $100 million over these 10 years. In recent months, the opinions of their viewers are getting too loud for them to ignore. Fans are critiquing him for his bias, bizarre analogies, and losing the magic he had when he started off in this profession.
