NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart is one of the most accomplished racers in the history of the sport and over the years has built a legacy in motorsports only a few could match. He won three championship alo0ngside 49 Cup races in his career. Stewart has also won magnitude of races and championship as a team owner with Stewart Haas Racing.

One thing that help Tony Stewart to stand out from his peers over the years has been his no-nonsense personality. This same character had also caused him to clash with the NASCAR media and there is a popular belief that, he has a strained relationship with them despite him being a broadcaster with Fox Sports for some years.

Tony Stewart, in a recent interview, has addressed these claims and has asserted that he has a much better relationship with media than people thing. He pointed out that there are individuals, who he used to dislike in the past, that has become his friends, and some of them who he was always friends with are still close to him.

Actually, much more fond than people think. Even the NASCAR media back in the day and there’s some of them that I didn’t like back in the day that I’m good friends with now and the ones that I was okay with and friends back then we’re still friends. Have a lot of friends in media contrary to popular belief.

In the same conversation, Stewart talked about the issue he has with the NASCAR media. He explains how the media has access to drivers straight after they are out of the car post-race and this makes it hard for the drivers to give answers that align with the polices of everyone involved.

It was that way with the media though, you get out of the car they’d stick a microphone in your face and you hadn’t even had time to get over being mad or at least even talk to the person that you’re mad at and get their side of it… I mean I became a media guy I started doing commentary for FOX…
