The 2024 season witnessed first-time winners of the ATP. 33-year-old Jan-Lennard Struff became the oldest player German player to win his first Tour career title at the Munich Open in April. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard claimed the Lyon Open after gaining entry into the tournament draw via a wildcard.
This season, there were 12 first-time champions in the ATP Tour, with many of them coming at the ATP 250 level tournaments. Of the 12 titles, five each were won on both hard and clay courts, while the remaining two came on grass.

3) Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard – Lyon Open
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard began the season featuring majorly on the ATP Challenger circuit. However, he didn’t waste time and grew as the 2024 season went along. Two weeks before the French Open, he was given a wildcard for the Lyon Open.

The Frenchman opened his account by stunning Lorenzo Sonego. He then went on to beat Hugo Gaston and Alexander Bublik en route to the clay court final.
Perricard saved a match point as he edged past No. 6 seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(7) in the dramatic title match. By doing so, he became the second French wildcard player to win the Lyon title.
The 21-year-old ended the season by winning his second title at the Basel Indoors Open. He defeated American Ben Shelton 6-4, 7-6(4) to win his maiden ATP 500 title. Ranked World No. 50 at that time, he became the lowest-ranked champion of the event and ended 2024 as the World No. 31.
2) Jiri Lehecka – Adelaide Open
Jiri Lecheka reached his first career final at the Winston-Salem Open in 2023 but lost the title to Sebastian Baez. The Czech Republic star didn’t back down and got to his second career final at the Adelaide Open in January 2024.

The 23-year-old opened his account by beating Adam Walton and then Dusan Lajovic. He then defeated title favorite Sebastian Korda in the semifinals before coming from behind to beat Jack Draper 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to secure his only career title to date.
The Czech star did show some glimpses of his potential at the Madrid Open, where he defeated Rafael Nadal in the Round of 16. However, he sustained an injury in the semifinals against Felix Auger-Aliassime which forced him to retire. He ended the year as the World No. 28.
1) Jack Draper – Stuttgart Open
Jack Draper enjoyed his career-best season this year and made a significant breakthrough on the ATP Tour. He began the season by losing in the finals of the Sofia Open and Auckland Open in January. The British star ten had to wait six months to win his first career title.

At the Stuttgart Open, Draper defeated Frances Tiafoe and Brandon Nakashima before facing Matteo Berrettini in the final. He defeated the two-time Stuttgart champion 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4 to secure his first career title.
Draper made the most of his momentum by reaching his first Grand Slam semifinals at the US Open. The 22-year-old then ended the season by claiming the biggest title of his career at the ATP 500 Vienna Open. The British star defeated Karen Khachanov 6-4, 7-5 in the final of the event and ended the season as the World No. 15.
