Top 5 raids of today’s PKL matches | 26 December 2021
The fourth day of the PKL saw some blockbuster raids throughout the game. In the opening game, Dabang Delhi continued their unbeaten run as they drew 24-24 with Gujarat Giants.
In the second game, Bengaluru Bulls were able to get past the defending champion, Bengal Warriors to register their second win of the season.
#05 Naveen Kumar against Gujarat Giants – 1 point
Naveen Kumar continues to impress as the youngster racked his back-to-back third super ten this season. Despite not getting any support from his teammates in offense tonight, Naveen stole the show with his offensive skills.
In the closing seconds of the game, with his team trailing by 1 point, Naveen produced a stellar raid point, as he leaped over Ravinder Pahal to tie the scoreline for his team.
#04 Maninder Singh against Bengaluru Bulls – 3 points (Super Raid)
Maninder Singh has been excellent for the Bengal Warriors, the ace for the defending champions made an amazing super raid in the second half of the game.
The raider made a great bonus from under the left corner, and then shrugged the ankle hold and quickly touched the defender at the cover to get three points for his team.
#03 Naveen Kumar against Gujarat Giants – 1 point
Naveen Kumar has been the talk of the town this season in PKL. The raider produced a magnificent raid against the rock-solid Gujarat Giants defence.
Naveen made a great running toe touch on the defender at the right corner in the second half, completing the third super ten this season.
#02 Pawan Sehrawat against Bengal Warriors in PKL 8 – 4 + 2 points (Super Raid)
The high-flyer was back in his form which he’s known for. The Bengaluru Bulls skipper pulled the victory for his team in the final raid of the game. With 10 seconds remaining in the game, Bengal Warriors had covered the baulk line.
The high-flyer showed his class in the second half of the game when Bengal Warriors were down to four men in defense. The skipper jumped over the defender at the cover and then dived under the chain to get the all-out for his team.
#01 Lee Dong-geon against Bengal Warriors – 2 points
Dong Lee-geon was the hero for Bengaluru Bulls tonight, the Korean came in as a substitute in the final two minutes of the game, as his side trailed by 1 point.
Against a full house defense, the raider went for a bonus but before he could finish landing his foot inside the bonus line, the left corner jumped on his ankle but he shrugged it off and touched the cover on his way out to score two points.
The day was dominated by the defenders tonight, but with raiders such as Pardeep Narwal, Monu Goyat, Rahul Chaudhari, and Vikash Kondola in action tomorrow night, we can expect fireworks exploding from all sides.
