Top 5 raids of today’s PKL matches | 27 December 2021

The sixth day of the PKL saw U Mumba take on Tamil Thalaivas in the opening fixture followed up by UP Yoddha taking on Jaipur Pink Panthers. The opening contest saw U Mumba make a big comeback against the Tamil Thalivas after trailing by 10 points in the first ten minutes of the game to settle on a draw at the end of the final whistle.

In the second game season one champion, Jaipur Pink Panthers were up against UP Yoddha. Jaipur kept their winning run alive as they were able to restrain Pardeep Narwal for the majority of the match, winning the game 29-32.

#5 V Ajith Kumar against Tamil Thalaivas in the PKL – 1 point

V Ajith Kumar was the star for U Mumba tonight, as their ace raider Abhisekh Singh failed to leave an impact on the game. Ajith scored fifteen points for U Mumba.

Ajith was extremely quick with his footwork, keeping the defenders confused and he used that to his advantage early in the first half, as he produced a back kick on PO Surjeet Singh to open his reading tally.

#4 Rohit Tomar against Jaipur Pink Panthers – 1 point

Rohit Tomar has been a crucial support raider for the UP Yoddha this season, the youngster has a knack for securing points for his team in dire situations.

UP Yoddha were trailing by three points, five minutes into the second half, as Rohit came into the attack against a five-man, Jaipur Pink Panthers defense. He performed a quick running touch on MS Athul scoring a point, to create an opening for his team.

#3 Surinder Gill against Jaipur Pink Panthers – 3 points (Super Raid)

Surinder Gill took up the responsibility as UP Yoddha’s strike raider tonight as Pardeep Narwal looked completely out of form. The experienced raider score a brilliant three-point raid in the 19th minute of the first half.

Surinder was up against a six-man, Jaipur Pink Panthers defense, he raided from the right getting the bonus beneath the left corner, and then escaping an ankle hold attempt. Surinder showed veteran awareness as he touched the right cover on his way out.

#2 Deepak Niwas Hooda against UP Yoddha – 3 points (Super Raid)

Deepak Niwas Hooda was the star for the Jaipur Pink Panthers tonight, the raider produced a magnificent super raid in the closing minutes of the first half to keep his team in the lead.

Raiding against a full house UP Yoddha defense, the raider tried to get the bonus, but as soon as the left corner tried to get an ankle hold, he shrugged the hold-off and brute-forced his way out of two defenders to touch the midline scoring three points for his side.

#1 V Ajith Kumar against Tamil Thalaivas – 4 + 2 points (Super Raid)

V Ajith Kumar produced a fantastic raid in the closing minutes of the first half to reduce the Tamil Thalaivas lead from nine points to a mere three. The raider went on a rampage against a four-man defense as he jumped over Surjeet Singh and then escaped all three defenders to touch the midline to score six crucial points for his side.
