Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou summed up the club’s horrific injury crisis this season amid the club’s poor form in the Premier League. He spoke to reporters about the struggles ahead of a crucial EPL encounter against Brentford.
The North London giants have endured a difficult time this season, as they struggle to regain form in their EPL campaign. Spurs are placed a dismal 15th on the EPL table, with just 24 points from 23 matches. As relegation fears loom, the club remains just eight points away from the drop zone. Manager Postecoglou remains under pressure following a seven-match winless run for the club in the EPL.
One of the reasons behind Tottenham’s recent downfall has been attributed to the injury crisis it has been facing. Center-back Micky van de Ven recently made his return from a hamstring injury. However, the club still has 12 players out due to injury and ineligibility issues. The list includes Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, and many others.

Responding to questions about his team and the players’ availability, Postecoglou highlighted the extreme situation that the club has been facing over the last six months. The Australian manager also blamed the packed schedule as a reason for the club’s injury crisis. He summed up by exclaiming that whenever a player makes his return from an injury, another goes down injured.
Moreover, Ange Postecoglou‘s injury worries seem unending. Young center-back Radu Dragusin also injured himself during the club’s 3-0 UEL victory over Elfsborg. Amid struggles, Tottenham has reportedly begun negotiations with AC Milan to sign Fikayo Tomori on loan.
Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel rejects £50 million Tottenham Hotspur offer
Bayer Munich forward Mathys Tel has reportedly turned down a massive £50 million offer from Tottenham despite indicating that he wants to depart Germany. Both clubs had reportedly agreed on a deal before it was rejected by the forward.
Tottenham were hoping to lure the 19-year-old into making a move to the club, offering him increased game time and wages. He would also come in as a backup for the side in the absence of Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke, and Timo Werner. Tel’s rejection comes as a major blow to manager Ange Postecoglou, who also missed out on signing Randal Kolo Muani earlier this month.

Tottenham’s poor position on the EPL table reportedly led to Tel rejecting their approach. The France u-21 international is still open to a move. Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Saudi PL giants Al-Ahli remain interested.
